Does AquaBrowser Library do Boolean searches? Yes. How are the dictionary, thesaurus, and translation terms maintained? This information can be supplied to the AquaBrowser as text-files or XML files. These relationships and related terms can be easily mass-maintained. Does AquaBrowser Library hold a complete index, or is an index built on the fly? The AquaBrowser Library holds a complete index of the databases and does all the searching itself. This way, searches can be performed much faster. For up-to-date holding information, the originating system is contacted when a user looks at the details of a record. These results are show immediately in the result list. Another advantage of the AquaBrowser's free-text database is that it can easily add other types of information, such as newspaper articles, or web pages. Whatever the resource, the same searching philosophy can be applied, increasing the efficiency of the system, and making the search process as easy as possible for the user. What is the relevancy of the relationship implied between the core term in the word constellation and how far or near the other terms appear to it? The relevancy relationship is shown by the size of the font. This relevance what came out of our algorithms, but the actual relevance will depend on the user and what they are looking for. For first time users, it may seem that the word cloud is filled with many pointless terms, however, one must realize that what seems pointless to them, is exactly what another is looking for. The terms as they are shown are in completely random order, and appear merely to suggest to the user how the user could make a next step in their search quest. The extensive research that was compiled during the creation of the word constellation showed us that typical 'bulleted lists' of information tend to imply a relevance in order - something undesirable when it comes to suggestions, which mean something different to different people. What is MyDiscoveries? My Discoveries is the new Social Library Experience found in AquaBrowser, by Medialab Solutions. My Discoveries gives the user space to contribute their own knowledge and opinions on library materials and services. This Experience is beneficial for patrons and librarians alike; by reviewing, tagging and networking the user takes an active role in the catalog. Everyone in the community can contribute and share their knowledge through AquaBrowser.
